Daconil is rapidly attached to the wax layer on the surface of the plant after its spraying, where it is redistributed to the surface of the plant by a thin layer of water covering the surface of the plant, which may result from dew, rain or irrigation.

Daconil prevents germination and hinders the respiration of the fungus (the needed process to convert carbohydrates into energy) by preventing germination and thus protects the crop from fungal disease that causes crop damage.
