Product overview
Vertimec is a reliable, effective, and environmentally friendly product, characterized by its ability to control spiders (mites) and insects while producing high-quality crops. It demonstrates excellent tolerance on all crops and high efficiency in pest control, with high leaf penetration and rapid absorption that is unaffected by rain. It is used at a low rate and is safe for bees and beneficial insects. It contains only approved, non-toxic materials and is registered in more than 75 countries worldwide. The product is compatible with integrated pest management programs, as it is quickly absorbed by the leaves and the remaining part rapidly decomposes when exposed to sunlight. In protected crops, a 24-hour waiting period is recommended before introducing pollinators. The product packaging features UV protection to maintain its effectiveness during storage. In short, Vertimec is an effective and sustainable pest control solution that combines high performance with environmental safety. It contains 18 grams/liter of abamectin, an active compound derived from the microorganism Streptomyces avermitilis. Abamectin is produced through a fermentation process that takes about 7 days. Among the different types of mectins, Vertimec uses only two (B1a and B1b), which are the safest and most effective against spiders. This formulation is the only one carefully studied for toxicity and side effects on humans, animals, and plants, while other formulations are not fully studied. Therefore, Vertimec is considered the safest and most effective among insecticides and acaricides for controlling pests in various crops such as vegetables, cotton, citrus, pome fruits, grapes, and ornamental plants. Vertimec works within the leaf tissue to combat insects on both leaf surfaces. Experiments worldwide have shown that the residual activity can last from one to two weeks against leaf-eaters, up to three weeks against spiders (mites) over two seasons, and four weeks or more against aphids.
