Product overview
Boxer Gold is an ideal choice for selective control at the pre-emergence and early post-emergence stages for narrow-leaved weeds and some main broad-leaved weeds in wheat and barley crops. This herbicide contains prosulfocarb 800 g/L + mefenpyr 24 g/L. These dual active ingredients support Boxer Gold in providing consistent performance against weeds.
Boxer Gold does not leave residual effects in the soil that harm post-planting soil. It is absorbed by roots and new stems and inhibits growth in meristematic tissues.
Advantages: • Effective against wild wheat and barley. • Effective against resistant weeds, especially Lolium and Phalaris. • Easy absorption. • Controls a wide spectrum of narrow-leaved weeds. • Affects roots and leaves, most effective at germination.
Causes of Resistance Development: • Lack of crop rotation. • Use of poor-quality herbicides. • Using lower doses than recommended. • Poor tillage before planting.
How can we manage Lolium and Phalaris resistance within an integrated agricultural system? • Plant forage crops every two years in your forage crop rotation to reduce the quantity of weed seeds. • Never use (or follow) seeds produced in a field infested with resistant Lolium and Phalaris; use certified seeds. • Clean harvesters and other machinery before moving to another field to prevent the spread of resistant weeds from one field to another. • If possible, burn crop residues (to destroy Lolium and Phalaris seeds on the soil surface).
Pre-emergence herbicides are important for seed quality, crop selectivity, and herbicide activity.
Poor soil preparation leads to: • Loss of herbicide selectivity due to contact with wheat and barley seeds. • Incomplete weed control due to insufficient coverage.
Crop Safety and Selectivity Important factors when using Boxer Gold: • Good soil preparation and avoiding soil clumps in the field. • Using a seed drill for planting. • Wheat seed depth should be 2-3 cm. • Using good quality seeds. • Do not irrigate until 48-72 hours after treatment. • Do not use if heavy rain is expected shortly after treatment. • Soil moisture should be adequate.
